When we are serious about going fast and putting in the miles, the Ibis Exie is a no-brainer bike choice. We love the Ibis Exie XX SL Eagle AXS Transmission mountain bike for its lightweight frame, precision handling, and premium component spec. This version of the Exie is made in Ibis’s Santa Cruz, California factory and features an ultralight 4. 5-pound handmade carbon fiber frame. 100mm of DW-Link suspension is ultra-efficient on the climbs, and size-specific seat tube angles put us in the optimal pedal position regardless of our body size and what size frame we choose. A moderate 67. 2-degree head tube angle gives us laser-like precision when maneuvering through technical sections and still allows us to point our wheels downhill when the trail calls for it. Short 435mm chainstays give us a poppy and agile bike, while a short seat tube and standover heights give us the room to fit a larger frame and run longer dropper posts. This build of the Ibis Exie features top-of-the-line components and is a world championship race build. To start, SRAM’s new XX SL Eagle AXS Transmission drivetrain provides us with the latest technology in electronic shifting, giving us unbeatable precision and reliability. A Fox Factory Step-Cast fork and Factory DPS shock are both equipped with a lockout remote for climbing, provide us with many adjustments, and are excellent at smoothing out the terrain. Ibis’s carbon wheels paired with Industry Nine’s Hydra hubs make for a premium wheelset that is lightweight, stiff and has that infamous Hydra buzz. To do away with even more cables, the Exie is equipped with SRAM’s Reverb AXS Dropper Post for wireless changes in saddle height at the press of a button.
